Dedicated to providers of language education and training, as well as to researchers and professionals from language and literature teaching institutions, the conference promotes and upholds quality in education and research processes, focuses on high standards of teaching, on educational management, service to students and adaptation of curricula to life skills and to new approaches in applied research. The conference will bring together plenary speakers, workshop leaders and project partners from the international community of language specialists, and will provide a forum for the exchange of ideas, methods and expertise on a wide range of topics, in an attempt to address the multiple dimensions of the Language Teacher and Researcher profession.

e.g. in linguistics, cultural studies, literary studies, education research, interdisciplinary studies

QUEST România – Asociaţia Română pentru Servicii Lingvstice de Calitate – membru asociat EAQUALS – anunţă a 8-a conferinţă anuală, care se desfăşoară în Bucureşti, 17 – 18 Octombrie 2008 (vineri, orele 13.00sâmbătă, 16.30). Organizatorii locali ai acestui eveniment anual sunt: PROSPER-ASE Bucureşti, membru fondator al QUEST România, Goethe-Institut Bukarest, Academia de Studii Economice din Bucureşti (ASE) – Catedra de Limbi Germanice şi Comunicare în Afaceri şi Masteratul Interdisciplinar Comunicare în Limba Engleză pentru Predare şi Cercetare Economică , în cooperare cu membrii QUEST.
Ca în fiecare an, principalele scopuri ale conferinţei naţionale QUEST sunt:

  • crearea unui forum pentru schimbul de experienţă între profesionişti reprezentând diferite limbi şi domenii de specialitate, şi
  • promovarea unei educaţii de calitate, la standarde internaţionale.

Ce este nou de data aceasta, în Anul European al Dialogului Intercultural? Scopul major al conferinţei este să evidenţieze relevanţa integrării competenţelor lingvistice şi interculturale pentru dezvoltarea profesională, precum şi multiplele valenţe ale interdisciplinarităţii şi mobilităţii internaţionale.

Temele principale:

  • Managementul calităţii în educaţie – ultimele noutăţi
  • Regândirea formării profesorilor şi rolul învăţării permanente
  • Integrarea competenţelor lingvistice cu cele interculturale, pentru noi perspective de angajare şi în carieră
  • Forum pentru lingvişti şi alţi specialişti, centrat pe interdisciplinaritate
  • Proiecte naţionale şi internaţionale şi parteneriate în educaţie ca modalitate de dezvoltare – ex. proiectele Comisiei Europene, programele Centrului European pentru Limbi Moderne (ECML) / Cosiliul Europei, etc.

QUEST Romania - The Romanian Association for Quality Language Services - EAQUALS Associate Member - announces its 7th Annual Conference, to be held in Constanta on November 30th - December 1st 2007 (Friday-Saturday). The local organiser of this annual event is CLASS Constan?a, a founder member of QUEST, in co-operation with the QUEST office at PROSPER-ASE in Bucharest.
As in every year, the main aims of the QUEST conference are two-fold: to provide a forum for professionals representing different languages and educational sectors to share expertise, and to promote the European dimension.
What is special this time, on the eve of the "European year of intercultural dialogue"? The main focus will be on the relevance of language and intercultural competencies for economic development, modern European citizenship, employability and international mobility. Key questions the conference aims to address include:
How can we best facilitate the development of integrated competences for social cohesion? What are the new challenges and opportunities for education and teacher development in addressing the needs of businesses? How far have we got with the implementation of European concepts and instruments into teaching, learning and assessment? What are the latest developments at European / international level?

The conference aims at bringing together participants that represent the language education and business sectors in Romania as well as representatives of leading international organisations - EAQUALS, ALTE, the Council of Europe, the EU Commission and Agencies.

Marketing your project products and results

Conference and Project Fair organised by
QUEST ROMANIA - the Romanian Association for Quality Language Services
in collaboration with
EuroEd Foundation, Iasi, Romania
Iasi - Romania, 10-11 September 2007

The aim of this event is to bring together promoters involved in language education and experts in marketing for the educational field across Romania and beyond with the view of identifying good practice for dissemination and promotion of project results. The event facilitates the sharing of experience and expertise between two fields (education and marketing) that do not meet often. The conference participants will be able to identify effective dissemination and promotion strategies for their project outcomes resulting from the implementation of completed and ongoing projects.

The event will also include, a training session offered by the Inspire Project, a workshop on giving and receiving feedback (both in an organisational and classroom context), workshop offered by Andrew Hockley, an educational management consultant and trainer, and the presentation of the European project Learning by Moving.

The conference and fair Marketing your project products and results is targeted for project co-ordinators and partners, current National Agencies, marketing experts, educational policy makers, publishers, mass media, teachers and mentors, etc. The proceedings of the conference will be held in English and/or Romanian and will be
published on the QUEST website.

The 3rd Annual Seminar of QUEST Romania

The 2003 QUEST event has the following major agenda items which hopefully could make it an exemplary initiative very much in tune with the overall British Council midterm strategic goals: regionality, networking, life long learning and alternative platforms for learning.
Title of the event: Think European - Think Quality!
Key themes to be addressed:
- adult education throughout the region;
- quality management in adult education;
- language education = a basic life long skill in the Council of Europe strategic planning for the period until 2010;
- developing joint projects for preparing European Integration (here the added value of the collaboration between international
organisations and local NGOs will be highlighted; e.g. the projects Schools within Communities, START or Multicultural Education in Schools, where British Council has set a quality example of collaboration with Romanian nongovernmental institutions such as EuroEd, Iasi or the Institute for Multiculturalism, Timisoara)
